Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) crushed Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets to notch up their fourth win on the trot in ten outings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the M A Chidambaram Stadium here this evening.


Batting first, the visitors put up 147 for six in their 20 overs and,in response, CSK rattled up 149 for two in 18.4 overs on the strength of a brilliant unbeaten 79 by opener Michael Hussey and 61 by left-hander Suresh Raina in front of a wildly cheering home crowd.
Hussey and Raina put on 137 forthe second wicket. Hussey's 79 came off 55 balls and included eight fours and one six, while Raina's 61 was made from 51 balls and contained three fours and a six.
CSK were off to a poor start in their chase, losing opener MuraliVijay (5), before Hussey and Raina got together for a partnership that took the game away from Rajasthan.
Rahul Dravid topscored for Rajasthan Royals with 66, with his opening partner Shane Watson contributing 32. Ross Taylor (20) was the only other batsman to cross into double figures today.
