Rinku Singh struck five sixes in the last over as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Gujarat Titans in a thrilling IPL 2023 encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With KKR needing 29 off the final over, Rinku took the attack to Yash Dayal, with five sixes on the trot. Venkatesh Iyer did well for his 40-ball 83 but couldn't take his team across the finishing line. Rashid Khan picked up a hat-trick to put the game back in GT's favour. However, Rinku saved the best for the final over as KKR snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Earlier, Vijay Shankar and Sai Sudharsan slammed fifties to power Gujarat Titans to 204/4 against Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL 2023 match in Ahmedabad. Shankar hit an unbeaten 63 off 24 balls, after Sudarshan scored 53 off 38 balls to keep GT ticking in the middle over. In another fixture on Sunday, SunRisers Hyderabad opted to bowl against Punjab Kings.

Every team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is allowed to bring in an "impact player" for each match, whether it be a bowler or a batsman. When submitting their team sheet, captains are allowed to name four substitute players, one of whom can be called up later. If a team wants to bring in a foreign player as an impact player for a match, the fifth foreign player will always have to come on to the field in any situation.

It is also important to note that an impact player can only be brought into the game before the start of an innings or after an over has been completed. When it comes to batting, an impact player can be brought in when a wicket falls, or when a batsman decides to retire at any time during an over.

However, a team can only use one impact player per match, and the player can only replace a non-injured player. The rules for an impact player may seem complex, but it gives teams the opportunity to have a game-changer in their squad, adding another layer of excitement to the IPL.
